There was a sailor who had a fine boat with white sails. He set out to journey far, but the sea was calm. He grew impatient and began to row with all his might, yet he made little progress.
Another sailor raised his sail and waited for the wind. When the wind came, he adjusted his course and moved swiftly. He did not fight the sea, but flowed with the wind.
In the same way, the Spirit of God is like the wind. You cannot see it, but it moves those who are willing. The one who relies on his own strength grows weary. But the one who lifts the sail of surrender moves farther with less effort.
